Nine blockchain organizations have formed the Quantum Alliance to protect Bitcoin from the eventual arrival of quantum computers that could crack wallet encryption. Roughly 6.4 million BTC, including 1.1 million tied to Satoshi Nakamoto, are potentially at risk if standards are not updated in time.
